TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM
(TEP)

University of the Southwest provides a strong teacher preparation program. All candidates who plan to become licensed or certified teachers must be accepted into the Teacher Education Program. Candidates may select a major field of study from the following:

Elementary Education (Grades K-8),

Secondary Education (Grades 7-12), or

 

Candidates may select teaching fields/endorsements (minor) from the following academic content areas:

Post-Bachelor's Degree teaching licensure plans also are available to individual who have completed an undergraduate degree.

Individuals who are interested in USW's Teacher Education Program, but who live in a state other than New Mexico, should check with their local department of education to see how their state's certification requirements compare with New Mexico's state-certification/licensure requirements.
